Just joined today, so might as well write a few words about myself.
My name is Frode and I'm 26 years old. I live in the cold north end of Europe, aka Norway. I was introduced to poker during my college years, and we played it occasionally. The interest really sparked however when I finished college and moved to another city. Here I ended up buying my first poker set, one of them cheap plastic ABS sets for like 50 USD.
It did the trick, but after some searching online I discovered a whole new world of poker chips (wops, this is going to be expensive.. ).
I now started to host a regular 8 person home tournament about 7-8 times a year. I found myself some nice injection molded clay composite chips, which was about 10 times better then the garbage I had been playing around with before! I have to settle with a poker table-top for now, but I do plan on getting a dedicated poker table when I get some more space.
This year I also attended my first professional poker tournament (hosted by GPTL actually!), and it was so much fun!! In Norway casinos are not legal, but luckily home games for small amounts, and 5 national poker tournaments (4 regional satellites + the national championship) per year, was allowed in 2015. I ended up in 64th place, out of 220 started, which was way above my expectations, as I was mostly there just to get the real experience! 9 places before the bubble. But I was super nervous and I do know some mistakes that I would normally not make. But anyway, so I was hooked on this too, and am going to attend another satellite on the 24th, warming up to the main event day 1 of the national championship on the 25th. I have done some training, and I feel my game has improved. Fingers crossed for day 2 survival
And of course, if you are addicted to poker, you soon find out that you want more.. better.. chips.. Which is how I found this place. I'm currently drooling over some sweet hybrid clay chips called Ascona. But it costs a lot. So we'll see what happens.
So that's me. Hello everyone
