Greetings, my senior PCF members! I've been playing low-stakes home tournaments off and on since the poker craze of early 2000s. There was a longer break of many years in-between when we did not play at all but in the past few years we have activated again and started playing again more and more frequently and with more people.
In my circles we have never played with any premium chips in our tournaments, only with the generic plastic ones – but my gut feeling says that is about to change this year! Planning whether to skip all the mid-tier options and invest some good money into a really nice set in near future. I enjoy home tournaments a lot from to the social get together aspect and I think nice poker gear does its part in accentuating and heightening the social experience, too.
Having said that about the nice gear, it probably comes as less of a surprise that I've also been recently working on a brand new standalone cross-platform (MacOS/Windows) tournament clock app with a focus on polished look and feel, which we already tested for the first time in a tournament a month ago. Aiming to get it fully polished and published in a few months...
