Happy Halloween week.

Any fun side games or poker variants you like to introduce to your home game this time of year? Looking for some fun ideas for our 10/31 game!

We play goofy variants that range from barely matter to super gambly.

Suicide King: you win with the Kh in your hand, you donate 3 BB to the next pot.

Rivers of Blood: if the river is a heart, another card is dealt. Be real careful with this one, we had 9 cards on the board at one time.

Black Widow: Queen of spades, same as Suicide King, donates next hand.

First person to win with a heart flush got a gift basket. Costumes encouraged!

The ghost idea someone mentioned was the best idea I’ve seen in awhile. Need a better recap again. I think @CraigT78 runs it frequently.

We have this one guy who loves to sweat a gambol. So he will call an orbit of a game with a "ghost" or a an empty hand, frequently with a couple of cards less than everyone else gets.

Game proceeds as usual, and once a winner is determined, that person then has to beat the ghost hand. If the ghost wins any part of the pot, it goes to the ghost and rolls over to be available to win on the next hand. It's important to note, that the ghost money is not a part of the next pot, so not calculated in pot sized bets.

We've had instances where the ghost has had $900+ and it gets quite insane.

Here is a photo of my last game, where the ghost scooped two hands of PLO8 in a row. $500+

Oh. My. God. That's absolutely hilarious. So essentially you have a "Ghost" player who can keep their cards to the end, if they win it becomes part of the next pot but not part of calculation for pot sized bets. Incredible!!!

Incredible when you win it.

Not so much when you scoop a big pot and the ghost hits quads or some shit.
