How is everyone doing? I was missing a chip from a drunken poker night and was going to buy some extras to replace. Come to find out I can't buy them anymore. I am sure you all aware of this. Do these things really sell for $6-10/piece? That is crazy.

Cheers!

I am not an expert on these so I don't follow sales closely, but I do know they come up from time to time and they're are certainly many, many tens of thousands of them out there.

You might have to pay $6 or even $10 to buy one, but I can assure you that you are not likely to sell your set for anything even remotely close to $12,000 USD.

That makes me feel better about keeping them and still using them. I figured it was just eBay sellers asking too much!

Definitely use them…I know I would.

Probably would stage them in various positions…in different lighting…take some pics….then post them….here.

Then say…

Anyone have some magic erasers and mineral oil?

I’ve been out of town for too long.

$6-$10 will be the eBay listings of people selling them 5 to 10 at a time.

Selling in quantity I would say that $3/chip is the average depending on condition. I sold a bunch recently for $2.75/chip as they had some use on them. Some others were in very good to excellent shape and I got $3/chip for them. If someone is desperate to complete a set and need the $500s or $1,000s then maybe those would go for $4/chip.

Just my experience and opinion. On this forum you'll find that people either love or hate the "Paulson Classics".

Welcome to PCF! Your WTHC 5ks are worth more than the classics, prices will vary, but they are more desired for sure.

If the problem is one single missing chip, then yes, it’s not crazy to pay $6-10 on eBay for a single chip. Singles are always more expensive - seems like a small price to pay to fill your rack.

I am thinking of trading out the $5 chips for $1000 too. I think those will better fit the set.

So would I expect to get $3/chip for $5 and pay $4/chip for the $1000?

Probably a smart choice, the $5s don't really fit into your set since there is only 1 set. Adding a rack of $1ks gives you a nice tourney setup for either a $5k or $10k starting stack.

$3 is a fair starting point to sell the $5s depending on their condition. A lot will depend on the demand and if anyone out there is looking for them.
