Just wanted to introduce myself. Joined ChipTalk a while back and noticed references to PCF until I finally found out what it was. Figured I would join up here to get in on twice the action (plus it seems like this forum is more lively). I'm from good old Lancaster County, PA but no I'm not Amish. Been playing poker in home games/online/etc. since I was 14. Hoping to drool all over the chip prawn that I can't afford (fresh out of college w/ a job in software hoping to get a house with the wife). Recently purchased a Pharaoh's Casino cash set and have an order in for a Majestic tournament set. Also recently purchased two very nice tables with two more on the way. Hoping to make the basement of the new house a poker room. Will hopefully post some pictures once I get to start hosting games. Also looking for possible home games, though I know it's a long shot with my location.

We lived there from 92-94. Not much job wise and I got tired of working for the county jail so we came back to Michigan.

Back to PCF. This is a great place to surf for chips, poker talk, or even off topic shit.

Welcome to PCF, I am just down the road from you - Harrisburg PA. Well actually New Cumberland just south of Harrisburg.

So who is going to be the first person to admit living in Blue Balls or Intercourse PA? (y)

Welcome aboard!

My wife and I take the short drive from Northern Delaware to Lancaster every couple of months. Beautiful area. (Her family is from there.)

Glad to see you are here.

Welcome to PCF! Both are my parents are from the little town of Honey Brook in Lancaster, and we still have family there. Nothing but fond memories of great soft pretzels and the soothing clip clop sounds of Amish buggies passing by.

I used to spend a lot of time at the RCA factory in Lancaster, staying at a B&B on 340 in Bird-in-Hand.

The signs used to say "The way to Paradise is through Intercourse" -- probably still do. And numerous houses in Blue Ball used to have large (~12 inch diameter) shiny blue balls atop the stairposts leading to their front doors.

I hope Hammond's Pretzels is still there! And there used to be a huge destination tropical fish store in Lancaster, as well. Odd the things you remember decades later!

Sign was still up when I was there. Interesting town names for sure.

Blue Ball
Bird-In-Hand
Intercourse
Paradise

(in no particular order)

Urban legend long ago was that Hugh Hefner wanted to mail all the Playboy magazines from Intercourse, but the increase in monthly mail would have required a new post office building by law , so the post office nixed the idea. Probably not true, but who knows for sure?
