Nice! I know Nanticoke...I went to LCCC.
Oh my eyes are open!! I just have a feeling that there is gonna be a group buy on something I like, but then a couple months down the road there will be one that I really want! Lol

Does anyone know if there is like a list of what plans to be ordered during a group buys for the year or is it just random?

Hello and welcome to PCF! I’m in Lewisburg, PA - I host occasionally and have played in some local games. I’ve also run two cards mold group buys.

We should talk! :ROFLMAO:

I saw you on another thread and went to respond but I don't have enough posts yet...trying to get that up!

And yes we should. I host a tourn about every 3 months...next one is on the 14th....just saying

45 min rounds, 300x BB (3000 chips)to start. $110 buyin (10 goes to food and booze) $20 rebuys (1000 chips)till the dinner break, then 1 more after . Usually anywhere between 10-20..all depends. We did this years ago and consistently got high 20 to 40's...

Curious about your structure - and happy to help refine if it needed. Tournament structures/breakdowns were a HUGE learning for me when I first joined. Keep me posted on your game and send me a PM once you're able to ... I'm interested in possibly joining on the 14th!

We've had the same structure for roughly 20 years...albeit with a 6 year hiatus in there..however, once I get me new tourn set through a group buy I am looking to update. I've been working on it. I'll send you what we had and what I've been working on in the next day or so...damn night shift this week

And here's my proposed new structure once I get my new set. The right colum is current structure, middle column is a wsop structure from a fee years past, and the left column is what I'm proposing that I think jives well...thoughts, comments, are welcome!

Assuming 10k starting stack?what’s the breakdown of your set? Desired tournament length and expected/average # of players?

15k will be the new start stack
I'm planning on getting: 250 T25, 250 T100, 200 T500, 200 T1000, 100 T5000
Usually they run 7-9 hours
Avg is about 15, but trying to get back up to low to mid 20's

maybe most importantly, what do your chips look like @KBBuns ?
Well, right now I have a set of the composite Monte Carlo...I am waiting to get either an Aria tournament set or a wsop tribute set...or both. Lol

My two thoughts would be:

(1) A big learning for me was to avoid where at all possible the straight doubling of blinds in tournaments that I want to be more skill-based - it cuts stacks in half quickly. If I want a "turbo" feel, or want the tournament done quickly (i.e. to start the cash game or something) then doubling from one level to the next is fine.

(2) I personally would never bother with antes in a home game setting. There are enough other things to manage that trying to explain it or get people to do it reliably can be avoided.

My structure is below. The "--" level is optional. Think of it as a training level for newbs, or "soft start" time. I play with the level times to get my desired tournament length e.g. 12min levels with 10 players and two rebuys will last about 3.5 hours

With this structure, 20-min levels, and 39 total buy ins of t15k, your game would end at about level 20 and last about 6:40 (I think)

Couple things to throw back at ya...I agree with the antes, couple drinks and it could be a pain reminding people over and over..
I like the 45 minute rounds, lots of play at the lower levels
I do agree about when we double the blinds later on...it doesn't really affect the big stacks, but its really to keep the game moving
I think the highest we ever got to was level 12...I'm gonna take some of your info and what we currently have and mix em together..keep ya posted
Thanks for the advice/input!!!
