Hi everyone! Pleased to meet you all. I am a playing card creator based in North West England. I have played a lot of Poker over the years, casinos and online, and have hosted home games in the past, but not for a while. I'm mostly a dad and husband now, and illustrator/designer, and haven't had much in the way of spare time to play cards lately... I guess I'm hoping that could change soon and I might be able to dive back into the hobby at some point - it did used to be a big part of my life and was partly the motivation to move into the playing card business.

Anyway, just putting the introduction out there :) While suitable for games, all my decks of cards so far have been aimed mainly at collectors and magicians but I do hope to create a strictly Poker deck soon so might be asking for feedback and suggestions from members if people are happy to get involved.

Cheers!

Good lad! I’m glad you’ve joined us. I can vouch for your cards; great stuff!

Best regards Trevor

welcome!

interested to see what you're been involved in, i had a brief foray into playing card collecting then realized i simply don't need another hobby. but i love the designs.

Welcome to PCF!

Poker size, jumbo index, superior card stock are my wish list.

Now we're talking! I feel like this should maybe have its own thread, and I want you all to know that if I do create a dedicated Poker/Casino deck, I won't do it in half measure (!) it will be "propah". Do you tend to prefer paper or plastic cards for your games? I feel like the prevailing consensus might lean toward plastic.

I would say that almost everyone is going to want a high grade plastic type card.

Interesting. Will get to researching suppliers etc. I have also contacted the manufacturer that I regularly use for my (paper) decks to see if they offer a PVC option.

You should search some of the card threads. Some people have gone pretty deep on likes and dislikes. Lots of info to consider. Will try to find a few to links to get you started

Cheers guys :) next question: if I want to create a thread in which I consult and collate everyone's thoughts on creating a dedicated poker deck... which forum is best to post in? Thanks
