3 of a Kind
Hello from Mid-Michigan! I was a long-time lurker at Chip Talk and recently got back into collecting and thinking about chips. I was researching and putting together a design for a new CPC set for my home game and that process brought me here. Awesome site!
30(ish) year old lawyer. I played quite a bit in college but now it's purely recreational. That equates to a few times a month at Michigan casinos, along with the odd trip to Vegas or Hammond, IN. I have also recently gotten a monthly mixed home game going with some buddies from college - it's a blast! There's nothing like starting at 6pm and ending when the sun comes up.
As for chips, I started with dice chips like many but quickly saw the light. I started buying up all the Surfside Casino Chipco chips I could find (I'm many of you are familiar). I acquired a set of about 1500 that was perfect for cash games. When I went to law school I wasn't playing as much so I sold them off to a poker buddy, but I still have the privilege to play with them from time to time. Regretting that decision now!
I recently picked up 500 Paulson Garden City Casino chips (400x$2 and 100x$20) off eBay, with a hopes of convincing my poker buddies of playing fixed limit games. NLHE and PLO continue to rule the day in their minds, so hopefully you fine folks can help me design a killer CPC set in the months to come.
Cheers!
