Hello from STL! (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone!

Been lurking for awhile and staring at everyone's beautiful setups. I am originally from Detroit, MI and now live about 30 minutes outside of St. Louis.

Got my feet wet with some of the new Majestic's. I know... just china clays... but I love them so far.

Look forward to chatting with everyone and one day getting a custom set going!

Welcome! I just joined myself and am looking at picking up my first decent set of chips. Have some samples ordered but right now I'm leaning towards the Majestic's too. Love the look of them and your picture! Just curious what you think of them? I've never played with anything other than dice chips so I know they would be a huge step up regardless.

How many and what denominations do you have? I see you did custom denominations, did you just order the labels with the chips?

Thanks for the warm welcome! I actually love the Majestics so far. If you read any of the posts in the Majestic threads, there is a bit of an issue in my opinion on the $100's. The general consensus is that I shouldn't expect so much from them, but with how perfect the other denominations are, I do wish the $100's were equal to them. The feel of them is great and coming from dice chips they are lighter and feel more like a casino chip.

I got a 1000 chip set broken down at 240/260/200/200/100 for 25/100/500/1000/5000. My favorite chip is the 5K, I thought about swapping the 500 and 5K once I had the chips in hand. I am still really happy with the final product. I ordered blanks of the blues/oranges and the labels separately. I also oiled all of the chips and I think they look great oiled up! I most likely will put together a cash set as I really like the red 5$ chips.

Awesome! What is the problem with the $100s? I also really like the orange chip, was thinking about making that my $1000 but I also like the brown $5000 and I think they may be too close. Not sure what I'll do, plus it looks like orange is out of stock at the moment anyways. I also really like the blue and red chips too. Decisions, decisions...

Nice start to the chip collecting. Nothing wrong with the Majestics. I kind of wish I had been on the group buy but I was spending $$$ on Paulsons. I was going to get some for tournaments but I have been playing mostly cash games. Hope to see you active in the future. You came to the best chip forum on the net. Many good and knowledgable people here. Chip on!!!

The $100 black chips for lack of a better word are oblong. This was the same word they came up with when discussing it. It does not really effect any handling of the chips, but it is noticeable when they are racked. Again, it may sound picky, but the other chips sit perfectly in a rack. The 100's look fine, but a few will look as if they pop out. If you spin them around in the rack, it kind of fixes it, but others getting spun may then show up.
