Sitting Out
Hello,
I'm relatively new to the chip game. Unfortunately I'm jumping into this community out of some disappointment after trying to complete my first set.
I bought the Venerati's from sidepot (now buypokerchips) back in 2016 and was wowed. I'm an avid board gamer so they replaced paper money for nearly all of my games. I only got higher denominations and now that I'm a bit more into poker I was hoping to flesh out the lower denominations to be able to play cash games easier with friends. (I only have 400 and I really wanted 500 to fill my case) However, the Venerati chips now in production are different than the ones I bought two years ago. Not a fun discovery to make.
The current Venerati's are definitely tinted yellow and the details are a little blurred in my opinion. Also, I've noticed chips in my recent order with glaring imperfections when none of the 400 I bought initially were significantly flawed.
Anyhow, just trying to give a word of warning, but I'm not here to complain. I'm hoping to learn more so that I can avoid issues like this in the future and see if there might be a way to actually complete my set or find a better one.
Pictures for those interested. Original 2016 chips are the bottom two rows. I only have current yellowish Venerati's in 1, 5, and 25K denominations.
