I'm trying to figure out the breakdown of chips I need for my Rounders CSQ mold order. I'm looking to go with the following chip denominations:

25/100/500/2000/10000

I would like to keep this to a maximum of a 500 or 550 chip set (actually my wallet would like me to keep it to that not my heart).

8 Players Max
We typically only get 2-4 rebuys per tournament.
At least 150-300BB's preferred or whatever will give us a 3 to 3 1/2 hour tournament and still give us plenty of chips on the table!

I've been toying with the following T10k chip starting stacks:
20/15/8/2 (45 chips) (the more the better!)

With the following chip breakdown totals: 200x25's, 160x100's, 100x500's, 30x2000's, 10x10,000's. Total bank of 231,000. Total Chips in set: 500

or
16/16/8/2 (42 chips)
With the following chip breakdown totals: 200x25's, 200x100's, 100x500's, 20x2000's, 20x10,000's. Total bank of 315,000. Total Chips in set: 540

I tend to like this breakdown of chips because it gives me full racks of the 25's, 100's, and 500's. I'm just trying to justify ordering more then 500 chips.

Both starting stacks would work with either breakdown of chips I'm just trying to find the best compromise between starting stacks and my chip quantities. Obviously the less I spend the better so keeping it at 500 is appealing but I feel like the 540 gives me a better range and availability for bigger games down the road.

Thoughts? Maybe I'm way off with everything and a completely different breakdown of chips would be better. I just know I want a lot of 25's, 100's, and 500's on the table.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I use a spreadsheet for this, which I can send to you (PM me with your address). Initial thought:

Buy In
T25 x 12
T100 x 12
T500 x 9
T2000 x 2

Total 10k

Rebuy: T500 x 8, T200 x 3

Total chipset (500)
T25 x 120
T100 x 120
T500 x 140
T2000 x 100
T10000 x 20

With 8 buy-ins and 4 rebuys, you would have the following remaining for colour-ups.
T25 x 24
T100 x 24
T500 x 36
T2000 x 72
T10000 x 20

With 8 players max, 10K starting stacks, and a T2000 chip in play, you won't ever use T10000 chips.

your proposed T10K starting stacks:
20 x T25
15 x T100
8 x T500
2 x T2000
------------------
45 chips = T10000

chip set (up to 10 players):
200 x T25
150 x T100
100 x T500 (includes 20 extras/re-buys)
40 x T2000 (includes 10 for color-ups and 10 extras/re-buys)
10 x T10000 (will never be used unless you increase starting stacks to T20K)
------------------
500 total chips

Use and 4x T500 and 4x T2000 for the T10K re-buys, and use T2000 chips for color-ups of T25/T100 chips (the T500 chips will never leave the table).

However, I'd probably go with the following breakdown, as it puts more chips on the table and is a lot more flexible (could easily expand to two tables if needed):

starting stacks:
20 x T25
20 x T100
15 x T500
------------------
55 chips = T10000

chip set (up to 10 players):
200 x T25
200 x T100
160 x T500 (includes 10x for color-ups)
30 x T2000 (includes 10x for color-ups and 20 extras/re-buys)
10 x T10000 (will never be used unless you increase starting stacks to T20K)
------------------
600 total chips

Use the T500 to color-up the T25 chips, and the T2000 chips to color-up the T100 chips and for re-buys.

T10K blind structure (200 BB, 15-minute levels)

rd sb bb
L1 25 50
L2 25 75
L3 50 100
L4 75 150
L5 100 200
L6 150 300
remove T25 chips
L7 200 400
L8 300 600
L9 400 800
L10 600 1200
L11 800 1600
L12 1200 2400
remove T100 chips
L13 1500 3000
L14 2000 4000 ***
L15 3000 6000
L16 4000 8000
L17 5000 10000

With 8-10 players, event will typically finish no later than L14 (3.5 hours). There will be ~ 130-140 chips on the table at tournament end (T500 and T2000), which is about right.

I'm loving the 55 chip starting stack version Dave. More chips are always better :). I'll probably skip the 10k chips and get more 500's or 2k's.

Thanks Dave and Dave!

I use that basic 20/20/15 10K breakdown (usually 20/20/15/20) for our various 8-player league championship tournaments (T50K or T30K, depending on whether a T2000 or T1000 is used). LOTS of chips on the table. Great when the blind structure uses antes, too -- hardly any change-making involved, ever.

My starting stack for next month's championship event is 20/20/15/45, 100 chips = T55K.

Are these still available? I thought the group buy was over.

Just a suggestion but if you get 550 you could possible stretch it out to two tables for future use.

160x 25
160x 100
130x 500
80x 2000
20x 10,000

Starting stacks for 10 players 10,000

16x25
16x100
8x500
2x2000

Stacks for 20 players
8x25
8x100
6x500
3x2000

I planning on getting a set of these as well. ;)

I use a spreadsheet for this, which I can send to you (PM me with your address). Initial thought:

Buy In
T25 x 12
T100 x 12
T500 x 9
T2000 x 2

Total 10k

Rebuy: T500 x 8, T200 x 3

Total chipset (500)
T25 x 120
T100 x 120
T500 x 140
T2000 x 100
T10000 x 20

With 8 buy-ins and 4 rebuys, you would have the following remaining for colour-ups.
T25 x 24
T100 x 24
T500 x 36
T2000 x 72
T10000 x 20

Been a long time sense I have done a tourney breakdown, would you mind sending me your spreadsheet?

Thanks!
