looking for feedback. I am going to pick up a tourney set from Old West in their current group buy. My quandary: I love the white chip (100k denom) and can make it another denom that works within my set. Problem is the 100 chip is gray. I fear the colors are too close. I’m counting on the eyes of the group to assist with this via the poll.

Of note: Set will consist of denoms 25-5000, starting stacks of T10k

ask yourself which chip will be the workhorse. I'm assuming the 1k will be the standard after the first hour or so. If so, make that the color that's most important to you.

Not really...T10K...level 1 is 25-50...the 1K on the table the whole night

I am kinda new...so i freely admit, I don't get the joke.

No joke in the answer. Replacing the grey with the white eliminates the concern of 2 clashing chips, while allowing you to get a good amount of the color you seem to like best. Simplest answer is sometimes the best one.

"/thread" is kind of a joke - It just insinuates that my answer is the only one worth hearing, and we should just end the thread now.

Nothing insulting, I assure you.

I'm not picking up the tourney set, but if I was I would wish that the 100 was a more common black with colored spots. Anyway that's not what you asked...

I wouldn't personally put both the 100 and 100k colors in your set, I think they are definitely too close. I like the suggestion to replace the 100 with the 100k colors.

lol, I wasn't insulted (yet), but was surely confused. Now laughing heartily. Thanks, jja

not sure how to respond to the OP question or the poll, since there is nothing to look at.
@PTS do you have mock ups?
jja answered your question ahead of me (I am at work, and slamming a 10pm sportscast together.)

my 2c. Don't use a grey chip. There are so many other great colors and options. I just avoid grey and brown chips as much as possible.

The grey T100 is similar to the color used for the WSOP secondaries chips. As such, it is becoming more commonplace, as is a blue instead of a purple T500. The shift to white is considered by many to be an acceptable change. Even I like the idea of a white T100, and I've been quite vocal about maintaining traditional colors to avoid confusing inattentive players.

I am not "anti-grey" on the T100....I just really like the white chip. Thinking the white as the T100 is likely where this is heading. I appreciate the feedback (and encourage more if there is any).
