Help wanted - “creating” a PCA 1k chip (3 Viewers)

Never.

As an owner of a PCA secondary set as well as both leaded and unleaded sets my opinion is that it makes a difference and there's zero chance I'd want to use an unleaded chip to slot into the PCA set. But that's just me.

Depending on the chip you select and particularly if it's a 43mm chip, maybe you don't notice that much - but it would personally tilt me just knowing.

For me, I'd much rather use a plaque here, there are a few good PCA-specific options that aren't impossible to obtain, won't require murdering chips and you don't need to worry about spot progression and/or color. That's the route I went, albeit I was lucky enough to get my hands on these Matsui plaques.View attachment 1417494

There was a group buy for some MSK plaques and this member may have some available still: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/thre...he-admiral-pca-msk-plaque-sample-sets.100302/.

There was also a Cards Mold GB and I do own the $50s from that one and they are pretty great.https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/pca-plaques-cards-mold-gb-order-thread-closed.79763/

I'm sure with some effort you could track down some of the $1ks.
Thanks for the tip!

Lots of poor advice in here. Missouri 1k chips are actually supposed to be purple.
Classic PCF when teaching the newb, although maybe on accident... I hope.

One advantage of using a purple (blue, gray, etc.) 39mm or 43mm unleaded chip as a PCA $1000 is that most of those choices are not on the 'leaded endangered chip' list. I'd be perfectly fine using a ESPT 500 or other similar relabeled unleaded chip to cap off the set, especially considering how few will likely see actual play.

My spot preferences would lean towards 8d18, 8v, and bear claws, with purple, blue, or gray as the preferred base color. If there's any chance of later also adding a $5000 chip, I'd reserve gray for that slot.

FAIL. same spot pattern as the PCA $25. I won't even bother bringing up that you consider this murderable.

Oops.
Not everyone cares about the fabricated “edge spot progression“ propaganda. Inlay design is terrible. It deserves to be removed. The rorschach test “saddle” is not even silver for God’s sake.

I’m just going to keep a running tab for future reference:

I really like the base color on the $1Ks here, but obviously, I’d prefer a leaded purple chip :). For the PCA set I prefer the lighter purple/lavender type colors for the $1K versus darker purple colors like the CDI 98, I think it works better with the blaze. And the current CDI 98 auction is mine so if I were gonna fudge my preferences now would be the time lol. As mentioned above I really like the Copa $500 if one is going the purple $1K route for the PCA set as it has a similar base color as Jeep’s $1K, but also has a shaped inlay and is leaded. And edge spot pattern works too. But that’s just my two cents; in the immortal words of the late, great Shock G, you of course should do whatcha like :).
