Hey Everyone,
I just joined and wanted to say hey. I’ve always been a big fan of nice chips, but never got past the step of ordering a sample set. I usually get hung up on the decision of whether or not to spend the money on whatever quality of mass produced chips I could afford at the time, or to wait and get custom chips. This tends to happen once every few years after we host a good home game.
We hosted a great home game this weekend and it sent me down the rabbit hole again. This time, I stumbled upon CPC and this forum. Learning that CPC was the last American company to sell clay chips to the public got me down another rabbit hole. Thanks to all the new chat bots and how much info is on the internet, I just about convinced myself that I may be able to start new chip manufacturing business that also sells to the public and produces high quality clay chips.
After researching ball clay distributors and second hand compression molding machines for hours, I have finally come full circle. I’m ready to buy some nice chips and if I ever get a custom set, I think I’ll just figure that out later. I don’t really want to wait 2-9 months on top of all the design and decisions it would take for me to go through CPC customizations. I’m now considering something like the Rounder’s scroll or Atlantic club chips. If not those, I would love to find a set like the Pineapple Beach Hotel and Casino chips on the forum for sale.
Anyway, I still have some reading to do about the classifieds and other forum rules, but I wanted to introduce myself as a start. Excited to join!
