My name is Steve and have been lurking here for a bit - discovered y'all via hobbyphilic's YouTube channel. I've only been playing Poker for a couple years (online) and have recently been playing at clubs. I almost purchased some simple Dice chips via Amazon before I decided only to do a little bit of online research before buying - 3 months later, I still don't own a set of chips and, instead, have a bunch of samples of various chips. Almost all of which I love!

Welcome!!! Glad you opted for samples, choosing one is always hard hence why most of us have multiple sets happy to hear you opted out of dice (not that they don't serve their purpose but theres better choices that are still affordable)

There are so many I like that are all at various price points. I can say for sure I do not care for the Monte Carlo Poker Club chips and the ones that look like they were screen printed (like the pink chip on the left side from Pic 1 and the Nile Club chip I know those have higher price points but I guess I just don't care for the style

Not yet. I seem to like a lot of chips from the different price points and styles of which I have samples, I think is a good thing.

1. For the Clay chips w/ metal inserts, I really like:

- Monaco Casino - https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/monaco-casino-clay-poker-chips.31994/
Although, the samples I received from discountpokershop.com have faded colors on the edges. Love the colors though if there was better quality control.

- Outlaw - https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/giveaway-1000-chip-outlaw-micro-cash-set.42080/
I really like these, I got some samples from eBay that were beautiful with bold colors. However when I bought a set from Amazon, the quality was so bad with faded colors that I ended up returning it.

2. For the Clay chips without metal inserts, I really like:

- Majestic - https://www.apachepokerchips.com/product/majestic-poker-chips/
I love these colors however I think the price point is a little high for my first set.

- Milano - https://www.apachepokerchips.com/product/milano-poker-chips/
I like these but the samples I received from Apache had blotched colors on the surface.

There are some other chips I really like too but they cost $1 per chip which is definitely too much to spend for my first set LOL.

Steve, i don’t know exactly what stakes you play, or how big is your game, but @Beakertwang has a nice micro stakes startup set that you could look into. It’s $230 i think, but it’s designed for a .05/.10 game.

Edit: $230 is the chips total, not the price.
