Sitting Out
Hello to the PCF membership!
I only just learned of this community recently, after stumbling upon Hobbyphilic's YouTube channel. I'm brand new to the world of chip enthusiasts...been playing in card rooms and in home games for many years - but in our home games, we've never played with anything but basic dice and suited chip sets. Jon's videos have piqued my interest in acquiring better chips. I have no illusions of buying a set of Paulsons - it'd be difficult to justify that cost at this point in my process...but I'm exploring all the currently available China Clays. Three that I like - and that seem to be a decent value for the the money - are the Milanos, the Majestics, and the Dunes. I welcome recommendations and opinions about those chips, or any others in that category.
Lately, I've also been kicking around the idea of building a 10 player oval table. Just tonight I was browsing a thread of member-built tables...some impressive work!
A little more about me:

A little more about me:
- I'm a retired public school educator. Over the course of 31 years in the profession, I was a HS Science Teacher, a Head Boys Basketball and Golf Coach, an Athletic Director, an Assistant HS Principal, a HS Principal, and a District Level Director.
- My name is Joel Green, but have been known by "Red" for many years - a buddy who was a fan of the old "Red Green" TV show hung that on me. I though it was appropriate at the time...because I was coaching in a school whose team colors were red and white. Hence the user name: See-n-Red.
- I've been married for 28 years, have three grown kids and one 4-year-old grandson (the best thing ever!).
- For the most part, I have 3 hobbies: Golf, Smokers and meat-smoking, and playing poker.
- The group of home game players that I was a part of for the last 15 years or so has slowly dwindled. Many have moved away...a couple have passed away. So it's become harder to put together a good game on any regular basis. Since there are 4 casinos with poker rooms within an hour's drive, I've been playing more lately in poker rooms...but I miss the home games.
