I don't see why people think these are so hard to come by. When HSI was open, you could just ask for them. $500k in and out; probably would even comp you a meal...Wow, amazing set!
Never seen a full barrel of 25K chips....I would love just one!
Lets see your set.I don't see why people think these are so hard to come by. When HSI was open, you could just ask for them. $500k in and out; probably would even comp you a meal...

Legit
These all go in play my guy -I’m probably in the minority, but I only buy sets I play with. So one for cash games and one for tourney games. I understand collecting to a point. I don’t understand having 10,000+ chips collecting dust. What the point then?
Dude literally plays with every set he owns…. Now me on the other hand…I’m probably in the minority, but I only buy sets I play with. So one for cash games and one for tourney games. I understand collecting to a point. I don’t understand having 10,000+ chips collecting dust. What the point then?
I agree with you; every set you own should go into play. It's certainly a lot easier when you only have a couple of sets. For those of us with 10,000 or more chips, it becomes a lot harder to get them into the rotation, but they do eventually make it in.I’m probably in the minority, but I only buy sets I play with. Yes, like that guy a couple of weeks ago who was selling 5,000 chip sets for most of the chip room major releases - I don't know why anybody would need a 5,000 chip set, let alone lots of them. But on the other hand, guys like that are the reason that people can show up to this hobby today and be able to buy mint chips. And we all like that.I don’t understand having 10,000+ chips collecting dust.

For me, it's about having at least one of every kind. THC, RHC, house mold, no mold, Tina, CPC, matsui, sunfly, C&J, etc. Because they each have a different story, have a different feel, have a different look, etc. And it's fun putting up a voting poll before poker night!
One day, when I do get through all of my sets so that each has been in rotation at least once, someone's going to ask me how I did it and I'm going to respond the way that Egg Shen responded in Big Trouble in Little China; WASN'T EASY!lol I’d have to run three different games every day to rotate mine through. It would be easier I guess to just own 2-3 but same old same old.
I'll never not love TCR oil-drum pictures.Impressive -

“You paid what for this 5c/10c game ?!?!”Its always fun educating cash game folk that in some cases your chips are worth more than your buy in too
You are thinking from a usage standpoint, as a collector + user we like to rotate and experience as many different set as possibleI’m probably in the minority, but I only buy sets I play with.
