to account for breakages, manufacturer defects, chips getting lost etc?

I need 50 X $50 chips for my tourney set, but for 10 players, I need 5 chips each, which equals exactly 50 chips. Im thinking if one chip disappears or breaks, I can just add $1k chip instead and remove the extra $500 chip, but should I get extras? (I mean, this would be a full 25 chip barrel which seems like a lot of extras/wasted chips).

If I'm ordering a playable single-table set, I routinely order 25 extra of each chip. It's cheap insurance.

They only sell in stacks of 25s from Brybelly.

Aren't Brybelly chips fairly low cost? What's the added cost of 25?

And wouldn't it be easier to just buy an extra 25x now, then having to go searching for them online when you lose one in three years, and can't find them because they've been discontinued?
