Matsui makes clay chips too, not everyone knows this. They have a very unique technique in making these chips.

It's a good thing ASM (Vegas) did not use that method. I can see the gripes now "all my white chips had a reddish hue", or "there was a knuckle in my 5s."

On a serious note, why didn't people ever pursue the Matsui chip clay line? I've had these samples years before (sold/traded them away unfortunately), and I liked the way they feel. They are lighter weight, felt around 8 grams I think, but I do believe they are true compression molded chips (aka "real clay").

The chips are pretty well made, and you can pick edge spots.

High minimum (used to be 5000?) and no inlays. They hot stamp, though.

I like the M mold for a Mental Nomad set, but I hate hot stamps and would rather go inlay.

1. lightweight
2. no inlays
3. M mold only
4. high minimum order

Any two outta those four would kill interest for most chippers.
