I was watching that sale... You’re right, it’s like the inlays got warped when pressed. I don’t see indications that they are overlabels but it could be I guess.
It's a pressure/heat issue, somewhat common with that particular base chip color (showboat grey) ocurring in several Paulson fantasy chip sets, causing stretched and egg-shaped inlays.
BCC also often had similar issues, with entire sets produced looking like that.
