Had a unique and fun experience with my home game this past weekend, thought I'd share.
In the height of COVID we got used to doing virtual poker on an app, and using Zoom or something like that to do a video call with all the players. This led to bringing friends who live out of town into games.
So last weekend we were planning a game, and a buddy who lives out of state who we haven't seen in a long time wanted to join. But, the rest of us didn't want to sacrifice the experience of live chips and cards.
So, I rigged up a probably-more-elaborate-than-necessary system of laptops and Webcam, using two different video services, for him to join the table "live".
1st camera above the monitor for his general view of us and the table.
2nd camera above the table for his closeup of the pot and community cards
3rd camera (to the left of the monitor) for a closeup of his chips and hole cards.
Worked pretty well, and we all got a kick out of it.
