Okay, so I need some clarification on some things. I knew about BuyPokerChips.com/Sidepot in about 2004ish. I knew that they had a "Modern Clay" line and eventually an "InPlay" line of chips. They also had some plastic chips (Neophyte) and their flagship Ceramic chip.

Now, I have heard this company called the "Blue Chip Company". But when I hear BCC mentioned, I always see these crazy sets that were never listed on BuyPokerChips.com.

I also know that the company does not produce clay chips anymore.

So two questions:

1. How do the names SidePot and Blue Chip Company relate to one another?

2. If they stopped producing clay chips, where did all their equipment go? Was it ever picked up by someone else? Could the original line of chips ever be made again?

BCC and all of their equipment was purchased by GPI. BCC made the InPlay and Sidepot chips. The sets you see from BCC that were not offered anywhere else are probably custom sets.

Edit: Please correct me if I am wrong those better in the know.

BCC was a manufacturer of compression-molded chips, in competition with GPI/Paulson, ASM, and TRK. Sidepot was a commercial vendor of poker chips (similar to Apache) who contracted BCC to produce certain lines of chips for them, just as Dennis currently orders large quantities of chips from CPC for the Key West line. BCC produced many other chips besides the Sidepot lines, including for casinos, other vendors, and individual custom orders.

Ok this is good.

So GPI has all the equipment.

Could they possible make more InPlay chips?

Thank you as well!

This explains what SidePot is.

To add onto Ben's remarks, Sidepot commissioned BCC to produce chips on the Cigar & Snifter mold, which was used only for the InPlay and Protege' chip lines offered by Sidepot. BCC also produced Sidepot's Modern Clay chip line on the courts and numerals mold. Sidepot later had Paulson make chips for them, using the pineapple mold (the le Paulson Noir line). Chipco made their Archetype ceramics, and it is believed that Sun-Fly produced the Venerati ceramics.

BCC was started by the previous owners of Paulson (before the GPI merger), and later sold the company assets to GPI.

So GPI has all the equipment.

Could they possible make more InPlay chips?
Is it possible? Sure. Just like it is possible that (a) Bar Rafaeli and Alice Eve would want me to join them for a romantic evening and (b) my wife would approve.

But in the real world? No. GPI bought BCC because they were a competitor, and for all intents and purposes, shut them down.

In short, no chance.

*Shakes fist*

Goddamn you GPI. You are the Empire in the Star Wars universe while CPC is the Rebel Alliance.

I just hope that GPI leaves a major flaw in their battlestation that is no bigger than something I can bullseye with my T16 back home....
