A very short story about my 8 handed BCC Fun Nites set.
First, a little history on me and tournament chips (which goes back a whopping 6 months.) I play tournaments in the cardroooms and casinos, but my home game buddies are mostly interested in cash games. So I didn't NEED tournament chips.
But when the Horseshoe Cleveland chips came out, and I found myself with enough 5s and 25s, so what the hell, I added on some 100s and 500s and was good to go.
After hosting with them, I decided I didn't like a base T5 tournament format, so I kept my eyes open.
One day @BPTDirector listed 1100 BCC fun nites. I'd never touched a BCC chip, but they looked great and the price was great, so I ended up with 350 of them (chopping with @detroitdad and @akchip) I had the perfect breakdown for an 8 man base T25 tournament; my table is an octagon - I'm done.
I sold off all my Cleveland chips, because I didn't need them as tournament chips and didn't love them as cash chips. I put most of that money toward rounding out my mixed Paulson set.
Shortly thereafter, @AKchip bought all the remaining BPTDirector Fun Nites from @detroitdad, so he could create a 3 or 4 table set? I looked at my set and realized that my 12/12/x/x/x 8 man set could double as an 8/8/x/x/x set with just a few small additions. Of course, I don't have a second table, and I definitely don't have 15 friends, but when opportunity knocks . . . So I talked to @AKchip he shaved off a sliver to accommodate me. And now I'm done, I thought.
I prefer to keep my chips in cases instead of racks. The problem with this set was it was at about 450 - too big for a 300 chip case, not big enough to fill out a 500 chip case.
So when AKchip listed his extras for sale, I couldn't help but grab those - now I could fill a 500 chip case AND I'd be up to 20 starting stacks (just in case one of my buddies decided to buy 2 full size ovals?) Silly, but I'm totally glad I did it because look how these beauties look in a 500 chip case:
And now I'm definitely done!

AKchip decided to order customs so he listed his big set for sale. The set got chopped between @chkmte and @detroitdad (yeah, that happened) and chkmte had some extras he didn't need. Turned out his extras were the exact amounts needed to fill 3 of my racks. Not that I keep my chips in racks, but still, it sounds good.
Aaand, at the same time, AKchip put two racks of 5's up for sale. Now, if you've been reading along, you know the whole reason I started buying the fun nites was because I didn't want any T5 chips in my set. On the other hand, only 2 (or maybe 4?) racks of these were ever produced, AND they're a beautiful blood red. So of course I bought them.
Now I'm done.
