This was my first set of real poker chips that sent me "down the rabbit hole"

It wasn't long before I had to try some paulsons

At this point I was still playing on the kitchen table and it just didn't feel right so I decided to build a poker table.

The Paulson Home Chips had a better feel than the Modern Clays but then these beauties became available and I just had to have a set.

I started to get into photography and bought a bunch of camera gear and sold off all my chips to finance a new hobby... :^(
But it wasn't long and I was jonesing for a chip fix... The Noirs were now discontinued and I was left searching.... I decided on a set of the NPS chips.

I wanted something nice to keep them in so I started a little woodworking project.

It wasn't long and I found a great deal on a huge set of Speakeasy chips and of course I couldn't resist.

I kept these for quite a while and learned that the Protege line of chips was going to be discontinued so I sold them to purchase a nice set of Proteges. This was going to be the last set I would ever need to own.... I was sure of it.

I had been thinking of a new poker table and I came across a good deal for one that came out of a local casino. It was a little rough but the price was right.

I wasn't real sure at first but when I got it home and cleaned it up I was pretty happy with it.

It wasn't long and I decided it needed better foam and a new playing surface so a new project was born.

During the table project I couldn't pass up on a great deal for a little set of Paulson World Tophat and Cane chips.

I'd been having a bit of sellers remorse after selling my Noirs, so as soon as I found some on eBay I bought them.

I really thought I was content at this point.... Then..... What about looking into my very own CUSTOM SET??!!!

I think I only wanted to punch you in the nuts from jealousy three times as I scrolled through this thread. Noirs (twice!), Proteges, casino table...and let's not even mention that dope home set you got w/the shaped inlays and boss $20 chip!

Nice story in pictures. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing your awesome journey. I must admit I drooled a little. Sweet chips and tables!

Great thread and great history. I especially liked the "Full Monty" feeling I got, when all of a sudden after BCC and Paulson home series, BANG, an awesome custom set.
I am very happy to have a sample set of your customs. They really are marvellous chips.

I love those chipgeek stories! thanks for sharing it, very nice sets and great pictures!

Sweet journey, made perfect with great photos. I too treasure my sample set of your excellent customs.

I can't help but notice the key in the dealer tray lid. Did you replace that? I've tried a few sizes and can't find a lock and key that works. I have 2 of those tables and a friend has another. The float is made by Paulson. Correct?

Best thread on PCF so far. I just saw my life flash before my eyes.

Always love reading thru this thread. A sick kind of familiarity. Awesome chips, table, and side projects!

Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful journey and photos(y) ...........WOW. I really want to play with your chips on that table. + I am really amazed with your woodworking skills, very impressive. I just love this place so much, everybody is so kind and have amazing story's. Thanks for the journey and sweet photos :)
