This 1400 piece Chipco set appears to be in pretty solid shape, and nice colors/scheme to boot. BIN is set a .50/ea with an offer option, but I'd imagine that the personal nature of the name (Brian's Poker Room) dings their value a bit. Did Chipco allow consumers to design chips for home use, or is it more likely that there was a licensed poker room named after it's founder at some point in time years ago?

Don't know, but these do appear to be their blanks which are used by Game On, and I think were used by PGI as well before they switched equipment. Both allow for home market design.

Yeah, they did. For a time they took orders themselves and for a time you had to go through a vendor, but they always did consumer sales.

The $250 chip is odd although at Running Ace's in MN they have a $300 chip which I just got to use the other day.

Buying in for $300 doesn't count, Dan!

Haha I bought in for $100 on the Blackjack table not 300 :p. Kept coloring up as I was winning until I hit $435. Then I took the money and ran!

I would have guessed ten cents per chip would have been an optimistic price . . . could it be that rising prices are lifting even customized home game chips? There is a lot not to like about these unless your name is Brian.

Pretty fugly + weird breakdown + $10 chip + $250 chip + $50 chip + BRIAN = gonna sit for a while. I don't think it would sell at half that price.

Definitely one more example of DON'T PUT YOUR FIRST NAME on a chip.

Unless your name is Paulson "Bud" Jones.

Yup, good luck on that one. :D

I was able to find a set of "RICK'S' chips (my first name is Rick). Though they are Paulson Hostamp Solids, so much more pleasing to the eye. Though I figure they might not be that easy to sell because only another Rick would want them.

If you stamped a "P" in front of that I know a lot of people that they could belong to.

Years ago I had a friend that would introduce me as follows: 'This is Rick, the 'P' is silent.'

Wait for it... :D
