Greetings,

I started playing poker back in college, just a few games here and there with friends. But when I bought my house, I thought it would be lots of fun to host a poker night. Thats when I realized I needed some poker chips. Back in college we always played with "dice" chips, and I wanted a step up to make the game feel more authentic. I went to my local billiards/gameroom shop and they had some chips that kinda had that authentic look... you know the nexgens... so i bought them.

Not more than getting home with them did I have buyers remorse. they felt cheep and plasticy so... and this is where my problem/obsession began. I started researching poker chips, and wanted to find out how to acquire real chips. I finally found out the chips I wanted were Paulson!

But chips are a strange thing. Even after buying plenty of real chips for my home games .. Small as they are... I still want more. I love the uniqueness of each set, different color combos, types and styles.

Is there such thing as too many poker chips? All I know is I need more.

professionally i'm a guitarist, but love the strategy behind poker and am obsessed with getting more chips (both on and off the poker table) :)

I joined this form last fall, and everyone here has been very supportive, and helpful.

Welcome Mr. Guitar!

professionally i'm a guitarist
you play guitar?
Your astuteness never disappoints, Mr. Watson! :cautious:
Seriously - would like to see/hear something apart from Chips as well. I played my whole life but never had the dedication to put the shitload of work into it that's necessary to get to the pro league. :)

Welcome! I'd also like to hear a clip!
Thanks, just go on youtube and put in Jason Behr Guitar. I have a few recordings up there. also working on an online teaching website. should be up at teachable/behrguitar.com soon. (shameless plug)... but its how I make my living.

but if anyone wants to ask me guitar questions on here too feel free to!

Welcome!

Nice work -- that Rak elegy is discordant to what passes for my ear, but oddly compelling.

Thanks, I think what I enjoy about that piece is the melody after going through the dissonance... the atonality of the beginning and other sections make the other parts more beautiful.

Acquired enough of these for a 10 person T20000 tour. Don't have any $25 chips so may have to mix with another set if I want to go that rout... but 100/200 starting blinds should be good with 20K starting.

Have other chips, but these by far are my fav.

I'd like to say this is a support group that will help you deal with your addiction...but that's just not us. We're enablers. Welcome to the party.

I know... you are supporting my addiction... as in enabling it... and somehow I'm ok with that

Greetings, and again welcome! Nice to see folks from WI here.

Pics of your current chips, or I call shenanigans. Ha :).

Welcome, Nice Wynn set.

Thanks, there is just something special about those chips. I'd love to build a WTHC set too... but those chips have gotten crazy expensive... thinking about doing a look alike set from CPC

Wasn't sure what I would think of these chips. but they are fantastic. Love the 36mm paulson and they are something special!

Welcome to the fray! Where in WI are you? I'm heading to see Antoine Dufour in Milkaukee later this year. Been trying to catch him play for a few years now.

Milwaukee. We get a lot of great guitarists here thanks to candy rat records and the University of Wisconsin-MIlwaukee guitar program.
