Hello all.

I'm looking to get a set of low-end* chips. Something with a label, not hot stamped.

I was going to get in on the next group buy, but with the order not closing until April, and then a few months out from that until I get my chips.. well, I've probably spent too much time lately looking at chips to be happy playing with Walmart chips for that long. I figure that some of you probably started your chip collecting in a similar spot to where I am now, so maybe you have some starter sets that are gathering dust.

Please sell one of them to me.

Looking for, I dunno, coolish looking chips? Apache has "Mirage" chips for like .55 per (plus probably shipping), and that is what I was just considering, after being disheartened that I missed out on the group buy that just closed.

My friends and I play with one buy in =1000 in chips. 5/10 blinds.

We usually start with two tables (wives at one, and guys at another) and there is a max of probably 16 people playing at a time, but a set big enough for 8 people would be fine, as I imagine that this isn't going to be the last set that I buy through the forum.

We have been playing with Walmart chips, with reds=5, green=25, blue=50 and black =100. (I have 3d printed some 500's and 1000's for when they are needed, and at some point I will post pictures of them. They are still a work in progress, but they are already pretty cool).

We don't play with anything lower than 5's.

I would like to have some 10's in my set.

I tell you all of this because I really don't know how many chips I need, though I have looked at calculators and have a spreadsheet going.

Thanks for reading this far. Can you let me know what you've got and what it would cost ? I will send you a shipping label, so if you're in the US, don't worry about figuring shipping cost. I am in Utah if you're local and want to meet up to do the trade in person.

*I'm new here, but I've been here long enough to know that what I'm looking for, though they will be the most expensive chips that any of my friends have, is a low-end set, haha

I'll second Apache. I bought a bunch and like them. Some will hate on China clays here... But I think they are nice to play with. I have the Dunes, Royal, and some Paulson National Poker Series. Of course I like the Paulson's best, but the Dunes are nice too. Note I have Dunes from 10 years ago and they are more plastic and slippery. They are different now. More chalky if that makes sense.

The Dunes and Royal take a bit of time to break in for easy shuffling.

I like the larger diameter of the Royal, but they are a bit too sticky for me so far. I like shuffling and they are harder to shuffle. But they look and stack nice. I may try cleaning them some day.

I also like the BRPoker ceramic chips. They are very different but nice feel. Nice for shuffling.

Grab a barrel of each type and try them out. Then pick a set.

Or wait for someone to sell you something... But then you can't try them out first to see if you like them.

I only have 2x Tina chips, so I'm not the best to review, but I think I like them and am looking forward to the group buy shipping in a few months. They feel closest to Paulson's, but of course not exactly the same. Tina are harder, but sound and feel closer to Paulson's.

Apache and BRPro ship fast, so both more instant gratification.
