NOTE: THIS CONVERSATION HAS MOVED TO THE DESIGN THREAD.

Hi PCF,

Last year I made a set of custom mixed game plaques on plastic card stock from makeplayingcards.com. They were inspired by the Wynn's game plaques and included the game instructions from @abby99 's mixed game resource on the back.

They came out great and it occurred to me that this may be something that other members might be interested in. They're great quality and very reasonably priced compared to printing and laminating Abby's files at Kinkos.

I reached out to @abby99 and she graciously offered to allow the use of her game instructions for these plaques, so after a delay caused by the 2020 dumpster fire, we are ready to go!

The plan is to do a deck of 42 plaques featuring the most commonly played "classic" games, modern games spread in Vegas, and meet-up favorites. Abby and I have identified 36 games to include, and we'll get feedback from interested folks for the remaining games. The basic design of the plaques will look like this (front and back):

2x board 5CO Back.jpg

The plaques are 3.5" x 5.75" and printed on 13pt thickness white plastic playing card stock. Pricing will depend on how many people want to participate, but I expect it to be around $35, including shipping (around 83 cents per plaque). There is pretty material savings vs. doing them individually due to volume discounts and savings on their shipping, which is insane for single/very low quantities.

So we wanted to gauge interest for this. If enough people want to do this, we'll start another official group buy thread where we will finalize the details on design and game selection based on your feedback.

Happy to answer any questions in this thread.

In for 3.

Can you list the 36 games identified so far.

I've wanted to do this for quite awhile, just haven't gotten to it with the multitude of other chip projects.

Thanks for sharing with the community, this is great.

Sure - this was compiled from a discussion with @abby99

We zeroed in on 3 categories of game: classic mixed games (HORSE and other core games that have withstood the test of time and/or are the basis for other more exotic games), games which are commonly spread in Vegas and LA casinos today (which include a lot of the "carnival" variants), and games that are favorites in the PCF meet-ups. This is definitely not exhaustive, and there's no way to include every variant in physical form - Abby's mixed game resource is the definitive and comprehensive version and having that breadth of game selection is way more manageable digitally). There will be an opportunity to fill in another 6 games from on top of this list based on popular demand.

I'm surprised you don't have 5 card draw - maybe people just don't need a card to tell them how to play that one?

Certainly can be added into one of the open slots. I haven't seen it included in any mix recently but it certainly is a foundational game.

In the bottom right where yours says Jack Casino, could we each individually have the casino name we want?
We can choose a logo for the group buy but it will have to be the same for everyone. When the group buy is complete I can share the design files with anyone who would like to make a custom set. You can make changes and do it directly from makeplayingcards.com. The price of an individual set will be much higher than the group buy cost though due to the volume savings.
