Hi Fella,

Thanks for the head's up!

I made a set at first with every denom you could think of! Then the boys here whipped me into shape! LOL

Instead of spreading your set into a bunch of different chips it's better to stay standard ( .25/1/5/20 or 25/100/500/1000). And you might find some fracs you like better and it's easier to find a .25 chip than a .50. I replace my fracs all the time, it's fun!

Or if your game is bigger start with a 50 cent frac and lose the .25

I like the .25 frac. Get 2 racks and then you can play a .25 ante game as well as the standard .25/.50 NLHE structure. I start off buy giving each player a full barrel of quarters.

Thanks for the help - I am going be holding 8 seat tables. With 0.25/0.5 blinds

Do you reckon 5000BB (2500 cash value) is enough?

Hello and welcome!

Remove the 0.5 and 5.

As far as how much you need to cover, that depends on your players. Get enough bank to cover what you think will be your biggest night, then double it.

Hello and welcome PCF! That should be more than enough. We play similar stakes, .25/.25 and buy in is $40. That is a little less than 200 big blinds to start. I have enough to cover 40 buy ins and have yet to utilize all my chips in one session. We average 8-12 players a month and play between 4-6 hour sessions. I would also recommend going custom for chips.

I agree with removing the 0.5, but the 5 should stay. If I were to make any adjustment, I would drop the £25, and use a £20 instead.

Small stakes rarely see the 20 or 25 chip in play anyway, but games do grow with the economy. When the 20s finally come out, they will be infrequent, and more of a safety net than a regular use chip. They're main use is for chipping up the player with a mountain of chips, or rebuys (which is immediately exchanged for smaller, bet-sized chips).

Games where players are buying in with 100 (dollars, pounds, euro, or clams) bills, the 25 chip is apt. When buy-ins tend to be <100, the 20 works better.
