found this $145 poker set from a vintage shop in brooklyn, ny - is it worth it? i don't know anything about poker. i'm looking to gift this

Who is the gift for? If it’s an active card player this gift will ok but it will just sit on a shelf. I could see paying maybe $45 for this.

Looks to be up charged too. You’ll see this a lot with brick and mortar shops. Most of the time they over price stuff to pay the bills. Person to person or on marketplace this would be much less.

My opinion is the chips have little value, box is cute but not worth anywhere near $145.
 
Not worth it, and those aren't bakelite chips. I'd be skeptical of anything for sale there.
