It is Caesars that is most likely to buy, I would imagine that they would want one of their brands on all of the properties. It would be interesting if they go back to being Horseshoe Casino’s again.

Can't imagine they'd pick that name again.
They already sold off the old assets, including the chips, reading Horseshoe Casino.
Imagine the customer confusion they'd have to deal with when someone thinks they can bring the (old) Horseshoe chips back - even if they did a new logo style. "Yes sir, these read Horseshoe Casino, but no we don't take them. Yes, the ones we take also read Horseshoe Casino."

I can see that, but is it really any different than when a casino discontinues any chip without the casino closing? The casino name stays the same but the old chips become non redeemable after a certain time.

Ooooh, I'd LOVE a set!! The Jacks $1 and $2 tri-moon are fantastic!

Love the CPC designs. Did you design the labels yourself?

Calling it "designed myself" would be sort of smelly, given that I basically copied the complete style with the only exception being the logo :p:p
But yes, I created the artwork files myself - no hired graphics artist involved.

That's more what I meant. A nice tribute. Which program did you use to plug all that in with? I'm planning a CPC set atm, and would like to try my hand and some different layouts while I wait for the colour samples to arrive.

Adobe Illustrator. Back in university I had a chance to pick up the "master collection" (all products pack, back when they still offered the Creative Suite as pay-once-and-own-it software) fairly cheap, and I took it. Still fully satisfies my needs.

There is a template file linked in the footer of the chip design tool website that you can use as base for your artwork file. It includes bleed and cut area markers.

I played at Jack Cincinnati about a month ago, and I seriously debated bringing a few racks of $1s home with me.

If a rebranding occurs and one of our PCF vendors gets hold of them, I'll have to get in for a set.

Yes. I just read the article. It looks like Gilbert wants to get out of the casino business altogether.

Gilbert bought Greektown in Detroit in 2013. We've been promised a new rack if chips since then... The rebrand was supposed to be the end of 2017, then early 2018. Last I heard from a cashier in the poker room was end of summer 2018, but maybe end of year 2018...

Now I know why it's been taking so long.

Too bad, too, because Gilbert's chip racks looked good. I was optimistic about the new Jack Detroit rack.

Well if TCR gets these...I turned out to be quite the clusterfuck last time with all the bickering.

Well if TCR gets them you can probably expect to bid on them on eBay. No thanks to the elementary school yard bitching that most of the 25+ year old adolescents have done in the past.

Just for the $1k and up chips. All of the smaller chips he would want to dump on here to move as fast as possible.

The market is already very full of cash game chips, another few hundred thousand between the 2 casinos, will have it full to bursting. There are still a bunch of HS Cincinnati chips that haven’t been sold yet.

And eBay fees are so high he would want to avoid them as much as possible.

I'd love to get a small cash set of casino chips but I'm on a much more limited budget than most here so a blowout sale would be much appreciated...

What killed the golden goose of TCR was people hoovering up large quantities of the chips at the presale prices then flipping them on here and eBay for huge markups. Jim was doing us a solid and folks took advantage of it. I don’t blame him for changing how he sells, but I sure do miss him. FWIW, I never bought chips from him, but I’d love to have the ability to do so in the future.

What I seem to recall were some folks finding a way around the chip limits for the larger denominations by flooding multiple orders very quickly so the limited supply got in the hands of very few folks - against the spirit of how a community like this should function.
