Pic from a recent classified ad. I've noticed a similar jagged edge on some of my otherwise mint Sundance $5 housemolds.

On the effected chips I have, the jagged edge runs essentially around the entire circumference of the chip on one side, but the other side is uneffected. Is this somehow related to the manufacturing process, as that pattern doesn't make a ton of sense for wear/damage?

if I understand correctly, you would think that this would affect the condition of the chip? Worry not it doesn't.

Where the first color clay meets the second color clay interacts due to the pressure of the press that binds the chip together. While you won't see it often with new chips, when this happens at extremes it is referred to as split spots. Personally I enjoy split spots, however this is typically undesirable and so manufactures try to reduce this effect.

You can see more examples in the new members post. This is very much due to the artisan process of manufacturing 'clay' poker chips, this is part of the art. As a brush stroke swirls a specific way as oil based paints are applied to canvas, the interactions of the materials in clay under pressure and heat with vibrant colors can be just as alluring as say paper marbling.

To quote some random dude on TV, its a 'Happy Accident' and just like that you understand that Mr. Ross is a random is random kinda degen!

It’s no secret Tigers have much worse QC than previous NAGBs and real casino production runs. This is how a number of them arrived.

Yeah a few of my Tiger chips are like this as well. I’ve only noticed it on 39mm canary as well.
