Story behind the chips. I got married in 1996 and I was staying at the best man's house the night before the wedding. Just hanging out, enjoying the last night of freedom. It was like 3AM when one of the groomsmen says, "Hey, let's go to Atlantic City." Mind you, I'm getting married at 10AM, but having had a few, I'm like sure, great idea! And off we go to AC ( about an hour away ). Get to the tables, roulette, $100 on red. Lose. OK, off to the blackjack tables. Cash in for $100. and proceed to loose all but the two chips below in minutes. I take my two remaining chips and we are outta there. Back to the best man's place. Total time in the casino, less than 15 minutes. Total trip time, 3 hours. Needless to say, I was a bit tired at the ceremony. And the now ex-wife was not all too happy hearing about the trip at the reception. Damn loud mouth groomsmen.
Well that was a long time ago and I just I recently got engaged to a great woman (she tolerates my chip addiction) and had forgot all about these chips until that groomsmen texted me and said I guess we have another date at the roulette table coming up. Then I remembered I had these. Just thought I share them and the story with you. I guess I was a chipper, even back then, and didn't yet know it.
The pen scribble on the chips was our attempt to sign them, marking the trip.
