Welcome @apollo_827 ! Many came here fascinated with poker chips and didn't realize what an amazing community this hobby has to offer! Sure it's an online forum like many others... but this one is special!

Just 3 short years ago, @FordPickup92 and I found ourselves walking into this unknown world of chipping... absolutely no idea what to expect, feeling overwhelmed looking at members with 10k posts, oceans of beautiful expensive poker chips... drooling at the opportunity to build something like that... obviously envious and wishing we had found this hobby even sooner. We knew this was something we wanted to be a part of... but absolutely no idea how we would ever have anything of merit to contribute!

Many members sent us "free gifts" also giveaways and many other acts of extreme kindness... but we didn't have anything that others would want. How can you repay all of these charitable actions. The true answer is being active, learning and helping others when you find that opportunity.

"Looking forward to buying chips off of here" that's cool. You can also buy chips off of online vendors, eBay, spinettis gaming and countless other avenues. Some folks grab a set that covers their needs and never seen again, if that's what it's all about for you then that's fine too! But I hope you stick around and find that there is more to this hobby than little round discs.

That was a very generic intro, what in particular are you excited about? What's your background for playing? Already have an established home game or just interested in chips right now with hopes of getting a game going? Have you bought any samples yet, it is highly recommended to buy alittle bit of everything. Some folks are happy with ceramics, others pay a $1000 plus per rack of chips because it's high end clay or nothing for them. Some (idiots like myself) are willing to spend years to build a rack a chip at a time spending $20, $30, even $100 plus per chip to make a dream happen. Not saying that is for everyone... in my early days here I couldn't believe people were willing to spend even $3 on a single poker chip... one damn chip?? You need hundreds to play a game!

But it is a journey, we all come from different walks of life with our own chipping budgets (some of us need to learn a bit more restraint in that category) there is no right or wrong path. Some are Doctors, Lawyers and others are college kids spending their monthly food allowance to buy chips.

Again welcome, I hope you have an amazing chopping journey and happy to help any way I can. Feel free to reach out anytime with any questions, and there are tons of folks here also willing to help along the way!
