After seeing the great job @Psypher1000 did putting his set together it reminded me to take some new pics. As you might remember the old set looked like this

Well with the help of some chippers and especially @Psypher1000 I completed the rack I wanted for this set and here are the new pictures.

Please use the poll to let me know which one you prefer!

Thanks for looking!

I forgot to display votes publicly and it won't let me change it to view who voted. I would be curious to see how some of you voted.

@Tommy can you change it so we can see the votes?

You're kidding, right? Five sombrero rating for the Cortez.
I know. I used the Gold Coast as a start until I could get a yellow frac. My original inspiration for this set was from @72o mixed set using the Flamingo chips. I was going to to do a mixed set with them either way but I could not bring myself to get away from my infatuation with the old Vegas casinos. Alas! The idea for the All Vegas Casino set was born!

Wow set looks awesome with the Cortez's. Yellow or pink fracs always win for me and seeing as you have a red fiver, yellow it is.

Nice work.

I voted yellow fracs. Mostly because I just dislike the other fracs though. I like the color combo of the whiteish ones, but just not the inlay and mold.

Seems like no one loves those nasty old Gold Coast fracts. I think they started out white and the stains from hooker & tobacco juice just couldn't be gotten out. Could be they are even a little dangerous to have around???

Why take chances? -=- DrStrange

Sounds like someone has a nice safe holding place for nasty, formerly white chips, such as these.

Funny, I kind of fell in love with the simplicity of the gray chips on the house mold with 25¢ in the Gold Coast font. Most of the chips I have are the second issue form 1990 but I believe I have almost half a rack of the newer 1992 issue chips which stand on end. The condition of the 240+ chips that I have been able to get together varies. There are a few heavy casino used chips but there are some with some very sharp edges. I am still hunting for some more to complete a third rack but it is difficult to find any of these in more than lots of 1 or 2 chips.

I actually like both David, but the ElCortez looks better in the set.

Some of you know I was working on a custom cloth and I had an idea that I have been working on. I scratched the original Trop felt and came up with a different design. I think I am pretty close to a finished product. I will be posting that picture soon in the other thread I had for design help.

I leave it empty for a bit of a push!
Finish it!

I love how the yellow fracs play off the Flamingo $1's. Our sets are indeed similar, but the fracs and $1's are enough to set them apart from one another.

I think the rack of El Cortez fracs is a definite upgrade for the set. That's a bit difficult to say because of that house mold on the Gold Coast fracs, but the yellow really pops against the blue where as the grey was just...well...grey.

Nice set, David! Now you've got me wondering if I don't want/need another rack of $1's...hmmm...

I really like the pink chips with your set since the $1's are a darker blue. I really do like the yellow in my set because of how they look with the red birds and also how they complimant the spots on the Flamingo chips.

Now what to do with 240+ Gold Coast fracs? Another mixed set?

Funny how you are saying more $1's and I am looking at your set thinking I need more $5's. LOL

I got the fives because I knew I could get them in uncirculated condition now, but wasn't sure about the future. Figured better to have & not need, than need & not have. I can definitely get by with two racks of $1's, but I *think* I'd like three just in case a game of $.25/$.25 goes a little deeper w/rebuys. Or possibly just because moar.

I know there are still some PCF folks still in Vegas. You ought to make a call out for another rack. :D

I'm with everyone else. Hands down, the yellow fracs win out without question. I too was very inspired by @72o 's mixed set. Among the very best.

first of all HOLY COW! where did you get all those flamingo 1s from!?!?... then the dunes... are they the real deal?

secondly don't make any hasty decisions. regret is a terrible thing to live with. i wish i still had my th&c's.

if i had your chips id keep them all and play what ever i wanted in any combination that took my fancy on the day.

The obsession started Last year when a member sold me some harvested Flamingo spotted birds. That same member harvested a few more and then I harvested some last February when I was there. The last 1.5 racks were harvested about a month ago to complete 4 racks of my favorite Las Vegas $1 and I am always looking for more to expand for a limit game!
Yes the Dunes are the real deal which I purchase a few months ago specifically for this set.
Do not worry, I do not think any of these chips will be leaving my chip cabinet any time soon. I often do use different fracs and depends on who I am spreading the game for. When it is the newer players that toss chips around that is when I put the Gold Coast in play. When it is the player that have an appreciation for the chips I may use the other chips.
