Not Mine Le Paulson Noir Poker Full Casino Chip Set - 1,500+ Chips (1 Viewer)

Well ... if i had anywhere near the funds to buy them, i wouldnt have shared. Trust me.

My bid has been placed and its healthy. He posted these same ones a few years back.....

I think its Free local pick up, but buyer pays actual shipping cost.
Well that's what the seller posted in his description anyways.

Never understood the paradise mold haters rationale. Tons better than the Paulson home set alternatives, puts several BCC molds to shame, and is on par with many of the best molds offered by ASM/CPC.

I really like the mold. Only reason I'm not in this is, I have my custom tournaments now. Noirs are very cool.

I've never liked that mold for a few reasons. (MY OPINION ONLY!)

a) It's a very super shallow mold.
b) It's not a very easily definable image.
c) In my eyes, it looks very muddled, and almost like it was an afterthought.

And yes, I very much prefer the Paulson Chips mold to it. Which to many is an offense higher than dice chip worship.

Just curious - are your opinions based more on looks, handling, or other factors? I don't hate the mold, but I've never even touched a paradise chip so my perspective is limited strictly to the visuals.

Feel, sound, and handling characteristics. I'm pretty neutral regarding the looks of the paradise mold; imo, it's not magnificent, but it's not horrid, either. Of course, all of those attributes (looks, feel, sound, handling) are totally subjective, and are likely to vary widely across a large pool of reviewers.

i've said it before and it's still true that if the spot colors on that $1 were anything but red or orange, i'd already have a huge set of those chips.

as to the mold, i love the look. the feel and handling are great as well, but i love it primarily for the look.

I remember when I first joined CT I sold my 300 chip set (100's, 500's and 1K's) for less than I paid for them because I only sold it through the site, instead of using eBay. I paid $1.49/chip when I bought the set, looks like these are over $2,300 now and thus selling for more than their original sticker price (with 6 days left on the auction). Pretty sweet set. I remember those chips stayed mint despite a lot of use, pretty damned sturdy.

Yeah that $1 is a let down. A shame, as they variety of spot patterns on these is another great selling point over the other Paulson home sets I've seen, which are bland by comparison.

I nearly went with a set of the Noir for my first 'grown up' set, got samples and liked them a lot. Just... Not enough. Figured for a not dissimilar price I could go custom instead, and did. :)
