I'm trying to determine what the value of a 525 chip Paulson Noir tournament set would be. The chips are in pristine condition (used only a few times) and the breakdown is 200 - $25s, 200 - $100s, 50 - $500s, 50 - $1,000s and 25 $5,000s plus the Paulson Noir dealer button. My best guess is the set is worth about $1300 (~$2.50/chip) but I want a sanity check. Any opinions (that are not sarcastic) are welcome.

Also, are certain denominations of these chips worth more than others? If so, can you give me your opinion as to the order of worth from most valuable to least valuable. Thanks in advance.

These recently sold on e-bay for about $2 a chip. A DB also sold for about $120 . Usually higher denoms are more expensive for casino chips since there are less of them available. They are great looking chips nonetheless.

Depending upon the buyer's needs, I'd estimate the set being worth between $1200-$1600 in today's market. It's a pretty good breakdown, although personally I would need more $500 and $1000 chips.

The chip market is a strange place, where everything can happen.

I've been out for a while and was blown away by current prices...

NPS chips (and other Paulson home sets) have doubled in value since Paulson stopped production.
I love my set but would NEVEREVER pay that kind of cash for a set on the paulson mold.

The casino paulsons also increased in value and it's obvious it's a sellers market.
That's why I don't understand that I was able to be the first to buy a mint tourney TKGB set (TRK) for $3/chip.

So like I said, the market is a strange place...asking $2.5 doesn't seem excessive.
But I Jim drops a huge Paulson casino set (PCA, Empress, ...) on us tomorrow, then other chip prices will drop imho.

First link is very very light on hundo's

Second links is crazy, you can have one for less then $15-20 + artwork (if someone is willing to copy the original artwork)

Did you have this set listed on eBay On Wednesday? Not a challenge. Just curious.

Agreed, especially 1000s. That will hurt the set value a bit.

The 5000 chips are by far the most valuable. Here's how I would break it down

200 x 25 @ 2.00 ea = 400
200 x 100 @ 2.00 ea = 400
50 x 500 @ 2.50 ea = 62.50
50 x 1000 @ 2.50 ea = 62.50
25 x 5000 @ 4.00 ea = 100

Ballpark $1000 for the set, probably more given the recent rarity.

Also @Thomacetti the Noirs are not on the Paulson mold, which depending on who you ask makes them even more valuable. They are on the 'pineapple' mold which afaik was only ever used for these chips. I personally like it but I know others do not.

Schnikeys...I have a lpn dealer button. For $120 it's yours!

Thanks for the breakdown. Just for accuracy, your math is off on the 500s and 1000s. Those should be $125 each. Also I agree with pltrgyst that the $5000s are the ulgiest of the bunch and the one-third moon spots on it don't really jive with spot progression on the others.

Ah, you're right, thanks. I wrote it down quickly without actually thinking about the calculation. :cautious:
