Situation.

Writer sells a rack of poker chips. Package arrives half shredded and in a plastic bag courtesy of the USPS with an apology sticker about the damage. SFRB shredded and empty.

Writer starting a recovery claim, I’m told maybe USPS will be able to locate the Werneke (sp) box taped incredibly, with rack of chips. If not, an insurance claim (the insurance included up to $100) can be initiated which will involve some involvement of the recipient.

Here’s what I’ve done; went to PO and got all the info I outlined above about the claims process. I’ve also refunded the buyers money.

I’m not saying refunding the buyers money was wrong, I’m just inquiring if this is typical. I mean I know the waiting process for a package and then to have it not come (basically). It was already delayed due to the hurricane.

$85? Meh… Just posting this to see how it’s normally handled.

USPS… Super reliable, usually I guess. I mean for as much as I’ve shipped and received by way of PCF I haven’t had an issue.

Not the day to buy a lottery ticket.

This sounds like the right approach re refund. What kind of packaging was used - was this a flat rate box or padded mailer?
