I like to keep my eyes open for interesting cards. Every now and then I even find some. When I saw these “Live Poker” cards, I figured I would give them a shot. I wasn’t disappointed. For some context, Copag is the only readily available bridge four color option I’m aware of since Desjgn and Faded Spade sold out of their previous lines. I’m sure that they will both restock with new four color lines eventually. Faded Spade already has their new FSX poker size four color setups available, but at $35 plus $7.50 shipping per setup they’re not cheap. Even if bridge size shows up and price were no issue, I’m not a fan of the FSX card backs.
These cards claim to be made in Japan. They’re not anything like any Angel or Nintendo cards I’ve handled. If they’re made by one of those two, it’s on some card stock that I’ve not previously seen. The card stock isn’t the same as any I’ve handled from other manufacturers either, and I haven’t come across any apparent common DNA with other card makers. Obviously I am not personally aware of all cards ever made, but I have a pretty good selection of plastic bridge cards to compare to (35+ card stocks across 15+ known manufacturers). It seems likely to me that there’s either a new card stock being used or a new plastic card maker altogether in Japan.
The card backs are noticeably textured. The texture is somewhat similar to the backs of Bullets/Statesman cards. Even though it’s textured, it’s not high friction like the recent Desjgn Dal Negro stock. The card fronts are very lightly textured for a nice smooth feel. I would compare the feel to the backs of Angel Poker or the fronts of the Desjgn Classic Circle four color bridge decks The cards are on the stiffer side. They’re noticeably more stiff than Angel Poker or Copag 1546. They’re slightly more stiff than Desjgn four color and recent Fournier 2826. They’re moderately less stiff than Faded Spade 3.0 and FSX.
I like the jumbo index of the cards. They struck a nice balance of being a larger index than Faded Spade while maintaining a larger area for pips and faces than most other bridge jumbo options. They’re also available in seven back colors. I don’t have strong opinions on what shades of blue and green are best for four color, but I included a pic below in relatively dim light so you can get a feel for what they look like under less than optimal lighting.
Are they my favorite cards? No, that’s probably Angel Poker right now. Are they my favorite jumbo index size? Maybe. Probably even. Do I want to put them in play? Definitely.
Sorry for the mini review, but I wanted to provide some context so interested buyers might have a clue what they’re looking at. No sense in buying some cards to try out if you can tell from my review that they’re not up your alley.
I don’t know how many I’ll keep in each color, but I definitely have extras in each color.
Price: $10 each deck. I’m also happy to trade for other interesting cards.
Shipping: USPS has new rates this week, but I think I can do up to 6 decks Priority Mail for $9 to $11 and up to 10 decks Priority Mail for $9 to $14. A MFRB will likely hold at least 16 decks. I'm happy to look into international shipping as well.
If you’re interested, post here and/or shoot me a PM with what you’d like. First come, first serve. I’ll update if/when I run out of colors.
Now for the pics! Note that I don’t actually have three decks in each color open. By moving the top cards around it looks like I do though.

Here’s a shot of some of the faces alongside a few other four color decks. From left to right we have Desjgn Classic Circle four color, Purple Live Poker, Copag Legacy four color, Black Live Poker, and Faded Spade 3.0 four color.
