I was listening to the audio version of Doyle's autobiography and he mentioned a club where he started first playing some of the biggest games of his young poker career. It was a place called The Rooster Club. Sounds like a great idea for a retro style chip. Has anyone ever done research on the chips used in old clubs and casinos back in the 60s in Texas? I have to assume they were all pretty simple, but I found no mention of Rooster Club on chipguide (tm)

Re-listened to it. It was in the late 60s (it was bought in 67 and sold in 80) and part of the Texas circuit. Tom "Pinkie" Roden owned a spot in Odessa Texas and the top two floors of his hotel called the inn of golden west was dedicated to the rooster club which was a gambling den and night club.

I feel like I saw a Rooster Club mentioned in a history of early Las Vegas gambling and entertainment establishments. But it is likely a not uncommon name, so I don’t know if that was the same one.
