I'm not sure you want to know the answer - it'll cost you a lot of money!

Nevada gaming commission regulation 12:

12.070 Redemption and disposal of discontinued chips and tokens.

1. A licensee ...
2. In addition to such other reasonable provisions as the chairman may approve or require, the plan must provide for:

(e) Destruction or such other disposition of the discontinued chips and tokens as the chairman mayapprove or require.

So all casino chips are to be destroyed when the casino changes them or ceases operation. Hence very few of these chips survived the casino's closure.

Also these are made by TRK in some of the brightest colours available and the $1 especially is a great looking chip. If you don't know what the fuss is about TRK, get one of their chips in your hand and you'll see. They feel like you're handling butter.

Did I mention the bright colours?

Personally I find these very attractive chips with the bright coloured body and the black and white center. I don't care about the history but likely adds to the attraction for some.
