I have to admit that nothing gets my chip fever going than seeing a beautiful rare set up for auction. If you have been on the fence come on out and play! WSOP is right around the corner and those buy-ins add up.....:)

lol...exactly. That Mapes auction happened like 9 months ago and I've read that thread twice. I think the completed sets are so interesting because they are rarely seen and there is plenty of Pron...plus EVERYBODY comes out of the woodwork to post. I followed the Point After sales thread and had no idea what they were or how rare they were until that thread, That was a really nice $25 chip I must say.

I have a Ritz set that I could probably part with....but it would be close to $7-8k

I think that the prices reflect the sellers not really wanting to sell. I can fully understand. That 500 chip Mapes set last year for 4k seems like a steal now. Sucks because i really want to work on an elite set.
 
Ritz set is a bargain in this crowd. Just sayin
