Does anyone happen to know where I could get a table built in Michigan? I see all these awesome custom builders, but they seem to all be so far away from me. Just thought I'd throw this out there. Thanks for any help!

@Azcat had his tables built locally (Commerce Township pickup, IIRC).
Depending on where you are, if you have the tools and another pair of hands to help, I'll help you build a plain jane. Actually, don't even need the tools. I have everything you'll need. You just gotta buy the wood, foam and fabric.

Go White! I went to MSU for my Educational Leadership Degree! Lifetime State fan here! Go State!Lansing is 90 minutes. Whether I am willing to drive that far depends on how you respond to this:

In all seriousness, I wouldn't main the drive. Hockey season is about to get underway, tho, and I coach, so my time is about to be at a premium.
Plain jane is no built in cupholders, no racetrack. You choose the felt (SSC or whatever) and the rail color. You get the lumber, hardware and legs. I can help you cut it and put it all together.
Its really not a difficult process at all.
Upholstery takes time (and I'm not super satisfied with @detroitdad's rail, but it had been some time since I had done one), but its not hard. Just alot of staples. The vinyl takes a little more work. If you have an air compresser, all the better.
Unfortunately, I don't have an air compressor or many of the tools necessary I'm sure...Lansing is 90 minutes. Whether I am willing to drive that far depends on how you respond to this:

Lemme know when you're available. I'll be there (BA, '93).
I have the basics of what we'll need... Jigsaw, electric stapler, large T square, saw horses, etc.
Materials will be about $400. Get your foam and SSC from YAT, vinyl from Joanne's, lumber and table legs from Home Depot or similar ).
