Selling two sets of Paulson chips. Hate to let these go, but I’ve have some unexpected life events coming up (nothing serious), and I need to raise funds. These prices are shipped to the con-us only. They will be packaged very well and shipped USPS Priority Flat Rate. I’m including a spreadsheet of the individual chip values (how I got to my pricing). Free Shipping (insurance above and beyond the included with USPS priority is up to the buyer, but recommended). I am not willing to split these up. PM if interested. Payment via PP Friends and Family (or you pay the fee). Racks not included.

First set is a nice set of Par-A-Dice chips. 700 chips

The ones are desirable and decent. The fives are typical of all the fives in this set, they are slightly worn and will fit 21 to a barrel. The 25’s are also in decent condition. Both 1’s and 25’s will stand on edge. The pictures are accurate. When I used these for play, the 25's served very well as quarters. Price is $700 Shipped.

*if the buyer of this set wants the 10x$100 chips shown (I do have more than 10), I might negotiate for them separately. These are not for sale otherwise.

The second set is a set of Point Defiance chips. 800 Chips.

These are in great condition. Please see pics. Please note that I later acquired a rack of cherry picked $5’s, and these have sharp crisp edges. I priced out this cherry picked rack separately. It should be noted that when this set was purchased, most racks of $5’s had 10-20% of the chips with sharp edges. My main racks are no exception. I snagged random pics of chips to take photos of, and the first two random chips I grabbed from the non-cherry $5 racks had sharp edges. I purposely grabbed another chip more representative of the majority of the chips in the rack (for photos). These were all cleaned and oiled after purchase from TCR. However, I don’t believe these saw any use since. Price is $1,110 Shipped.

Thank you very much @David O , looks like I'm a little too late.

I'm with ovo, if the new owner wants to get rid of the 25s I'm sure we could find some where to put them. :D Always looking for more pd chips of all denoms, thanks for the heads up bud! And congrats to the new owner, I love these chips!!!

The Point Defiance chips are sold (pending payment). I took the first PM I received.

The first PM for the PAD chips wants an hour to think on it. Then I'll move down to the next PM.

Thanks for all the PMs and interest. Great chips, sad to see them go.

Me too. I don't know how this forum really works but money talks. Bullshit walks. Why not auction?

I were second in line with a firm commitment, I'd be pretty pissed.
If I were second in line, well, I'd still be second in line, with nothing to be pissed about. If the first guy buys 'em, I wasn't fast enough. If the first guy passes, then I get 'em. I see no basis for hard feelings either way.

Carry on....

I'll respond since it was me who asked for a bit of time. I was out of the house and I noticed the sale and I wanted to do some quick research on these chips before I did a blind buy. I'm pretty new at chipping, so before spending what I feel is a good amount of money, I wanted to make sure they were what I wanted.

I appreciate the seller giving me a bit of time to think about it. He wasn't going to lose a sale over giving me an hour or so and in the spirit of making this a friendly community, I think this is a good way to handle it. It's not like I asked him to wait 2 days for an answer.

Your comment does not seem necessary and it certainly isn't very friendly.

Thanks again to @Trihonda for being nice about it.

I'd agree if it was a matter of giving the first person time to make the payment itself because they were busy or not somewhere they would make a PayPal panting. But to give the first person time to decide whether or not he actually wants them kind of negates the idea that they were first person to call dibs on committing to the chips themselves (IMO).

A provisional bid (of any type) via pm always risks losing the sale. Buyer took that risk, and it worked out for him in this case. He very well may have run into a seller who would only sell to the first buyer with immediate cash in hand.

Either way, I see no foul committed here by either buyer or seller. Larry just needs a juicy turkey sandwich to soften up his cantankerous ways. :)

Jagamov. I hear you. I wouldn't say im new to chipping. But I'm definitely not ingrained in the culture

I'm not talking about your chips. I would have loved to have the point defiance chips.

I'm just speaking in general. Maybe it's the capitalist in me - why not have an open market and let money determine who gets the chips?

That's all I meant to say.

Im more of a guy to say "show me the money" than to say "first come first serve"

But In respect for all that has been laid down before me - I understand that there's certain unwritten rules and people have their preferences

Naynay,

Hey I get it, and it's all cool. I just think that in the spirit of us trading chips and learning about chips, that we should encourage new chippers and not just be about "show me the money" and new people lose out to the experienced people who constantly cruise this forum. This isn't craigslist.

I hear ya.

Well for what it's worth. If the buyer wants to make a nice flip before the holidays. I'll take the pds for a nice price

Nothing wrong with that approach either, although some (not me) view it as 'greedy' and are turned off by the auction format. It also delays completing the sale (and getting the $$) for the seller.

First-come/first-served WTS ads also have a downside, as one needs to luckily be in the right place at the right time to have a chance of purchasing.

Personally, I prefer the 'state-desire-and-enter-drawing' method. Seller posts the fixed price with a fixed time window, and anybody who expresses interest enters a drawing where the chip buyer is randomly selected (if only one buyer expresses interest, he/she gets the chips). Ensures that anybody who wanted the chips gets a fair shot.

All items are sold, pending funds. And not that I need to rationalize anything, but...

Jagamov was the first to PM me, said he was 95% sure, but was currently at out eating lunch and wanted to get home first before committing 100%. I don't have a problem with that.

THEN there was a few folks who posted/PM'd interest in my various sets, after I already told Jagamov he could let me know once he got home.

I personally think it'd be a dick move to tell someone they could wait until he got home, THEN go back on my word.

IMHO, how people sell chips is their business. I don't particularly care for the auction formats (agree with @BGinGA on that front). I'm a believer in first come, first served. And typically money in hand talks. However, honoring my word trumps money in hand. :)

I thank all who expressed interest in my sales. I know these chips will be going to good homes. Cheers!

Exactly.

No,. Bentax described my feelings precisely.

And they're smoked turkey sandwiches, and we're almost out...

Any way, I had zero interest in the chips, and I'm happy for the buyer and seller. But I would never conduct a sale that way.

Did I read correctly that you also have some $100 Par-a-dice chips? Let me know!
