Mini Vacation Trip Report (1 Viewer)

A couple of years ago my lovely bride and I decided that we wanted to start taking a little mini vacation at the end of summer. Head out for a couple of nights, rent a cabin, camp somewhere ,ect.....The more peace and tranquil the better. Were both in customer service type jobs and deal with customers problems all the damn time. We still like hanging out with each other. These are a perfect time for us to just hang out, drink, fish, "celebrate" our marriage, ect....

This year we rented a cabin off of a private lake for two nights. We were the only renters out of 35 cabins. We saw people twice during our stay. It was awesome. Here are some pictures. Most are of food, or the view from our cabin.

Charred shrimp made an excellent appetizer.

Cheap steak seasoned with only Koser salt. OUTSTANDING. Can't beat cooking over a fire.

We also did some fishing. This was my best catch. Damn is she hot. I'm definitely the "reacher" in the relationship.

When it came down to actual fishing. As per the norm. She outdid me 4-0.

I love just sitting around the fire with Colleen, enjoying a few beers with her, just listening to her chat about life.

We also did breakfast on the fire. Cooked the links in a pan, then scrambled the eggs in the sausage grease with onions and tomatoes. Aweseome.

I laughed at your "catch".

I have a partner who is an avid fisherman. Once when fly fishing with his wife, the wind caught his line and the hook somehow got caught on his wife. He told her that she "was the best thing he'd ever caught" and that when he got home he was going to "mount her." Quick thinking.

It was a blast. My middle daughter asked what we were going to do while we were out there. Answer: Absolutely nothing!!!
