So I think I've decided to take the long term plunge and try to put together a playable cash set all from my home state of Mississippi. The hardest part to put my hands on are going to be the fracs. I saw a .25 and a .50 from Sam's Town in Tunica, but I don't know if they are still in use, and it's a 5.5 hour drive away. Anyone have any suggestions? I would like to keep them original if st all possible. I've got a couple Boomtown unicorn mold .25s but no idea how long it would take to get my hands on at least a rack. I look to you Oh Chipping God's. Bestow your wisdom upon this humble FNG.

Not sure if these are live (ChipGuide lists them as current) or available in quantity but Ameristar in Vicksburg has/had a Paulson RHC quarter.

Hmm I can’t think of anything off hand for live chips made by GPI. And where they do exist, they’ll likely be at the craps table if I had to guess. Very tough to grab, but not impossible! Looking forward to updates @Broski

This is going to be tough.

The fracs at Sam’s Town in Tunica have not been used in a long time. I have been collecting and trading for chips in MS for several years, and have not come across these yet.

The 0.25 at Ameristar is also no longer in use. I got one as part of a chip trade.

You could consider a relabel. I’m partial to the 2.50s used at 1st Jackpot and Magnolia Bluffs.

Century in Caruthersville, MO does use 0.50. That’s another couple hours north of Tunica. They had closed down table games to convert the riverboat to a land-based casino.

Harrahs Metropolis is in IL also has 0.50 chips.

There are a couple of places in IL and OK using 0.25 chips, but I suspect it will be tough to get a lot of them.

I was hoping to avoid a relabel, but I know that could be my only option for a long long time. I suppose if I go that route, I could relabel some roulettes, which might be less costly to pick up in the beginning. If I could find 1 different color 1's, that could be an option for the relabel also. For example, I kinda like the Hard Rock 1 since it's basically 2 tone, but don't think that can be relabeled.

I'm sure with enough time, I could eventually get enough. May not make it before the apocalypse, but one can always dream.

All of the current 1.00 chips are white, and that Hard Rock is the closest to having two colors. Imperial Palace Biloxi did have grey chips, but those are all gone when it became IP and got new chips.

Boomtown in Biloxi is supposed to have 2.00 drop chips, but reports were these were next to impossible to get your hands on.

Chipguide will be your friend if you want to look up what chips might be out there. http://chipguide.themogh.org/cg_state2.php?id=ms

Good Luck.

I'm going to have to take a ride down to Boomtown and see what I can find out. I have a couple friends who are casino employees and may have some connections.

Am I right is saying that chips like these below are not candidates for relabeling? I don't generally play at HR or GN so I haven't had these in my hands. They look to be printed and not labeled.

If you are able to get any of these I would like to buy or trade other chips with you.

The short answer is No. See this thread from Gear. but you can always reach out to them for an opinion on these specific chips.

Several casinos along the coast do oversized inlays. If it’s of any interest to you, you could build an oversized inlay Biloxi ratrod set! Now that would be both cool and unique. I personally love the Scarlet Pearl $5, it’s one of my fav $5s in the Biloxi area.

I'll shoot Gear a message. The HR one might (key word being might) look ok if the background of the label is either black or if it matches the original. Maybe. I'll differ to the expert on that one. Also, I'll let you know if I'm able to get my hands on any of those Boomtown $2s.

Ya know, now that you mention it, I'm no opposed to the idea. Could use some of the promo chips in there as well. Might have to think about that one.

Well I tried Boomtown tonight and it wasn't exactly a slam dunk. Only able to pick up 4 snappers. Went to the cage and poker room about the blue $2s. Poker room was empty, but the guy working said they don't sell them, but if I come back and see him, in the mean time he will see if he can figure out hit to get me one.
