Not Mine More Desert Oasis chips (1 Viewer)

Damn, that first rack of 20s went for 360? I'm glad I did want them that bad, it would get expensive now that the rest of the set is appearing.

Wow I was thinking $200-$250. I would've loved to have a crack at them but I've just sold the last of my hotstamp chips and didn't want to start again.

Not worth that much to me, but it was to somebody. Mint spotted paulson chips are always gonna command a premium.

soooooooo, maybe I am missing something, but why are these hotstamps commanding such a premium?

Since these never came up before, I think most bidders thought the last 2 auctions were it (Me included). Now that he is bringing out more racks, I dont think they will command such a premium. Although in this crazy Post-Paulson market, I could be badly mistaken.

we should organize a buying club so we won’t bid against each other.
let’s start right after i win these chips.

^this...and very smart listing practice for a seller trying to maximize profit. I presume the earlier buyer of the 20s has deep pockets and will still bid very high to get a playable set.

They almost went much cheaper I think. I looked at the bid history and I think there were 2 snipers. It was at about 250 until the snipe...355 and the winner at 360. Who knows what the top bid could have been.

I'm not that really surprised at the price. Mint Paulson $20s usually are fairly pricey, add the fact these are hot stamps and not inlay makes them more desirable to some. If I still had my hotstamp cash set I would've really been looking to score these, or would be trying to beg for atleast a barrel.

Yeah I told Scott I would go to 209 but never even tried as I have my eyes on something else if a certain chipper here comes back to the table.

I have a rack of these $20s. Real sexy. I was hoping to put together a mixed casino hot stamped cash set. (mint or mintish) But after I saw that rack go for $360 I'm feeling like it might not happen. I'm very confused at the rates people are paying for some chips. I understand that people have that kind of money but, are they gonna put them in play or just keep them on ice? Seems like a lot of money for some chips that aren't strictly collectors items..

I have playable chips that cost two or three times as much (and other folks here have playable chips that cost many times more than that). The market is very diverse.

Ok, newbie question... These chips went for $3.60/piece. You got chips you payed ($3.60X3) $10.80/piece that you break out when the homies come over? Pics please...

Thats nothing. Every weekend people play Magic: The Gathering with pieces of cardboard whose aggregate value is greater than some used cars, and they don't think twice doing it. People hve expensive hobbies, and as expensive as nice chips are, some people at the card store have more invested in a single deck of cards than many of us do in chips.

As for chips, uncirculated Dunes are up there, as are Mapes, et. al. But you wanted pics, so here's one of some chips that cost $8-12 each. I wouldn't hesitate to put them into play.

Here are pics of several different chips in my sets that see regular play, all selling for between $8 and $20 each -- I probably have a birdcage full of them total. And as previously stated, others here have chips that see play that are worth lots more.....

Those Le Cove $500's aren't cheap, either.

Nice! And that's how we get more pRon!

high priced pr0n, you got to use a service to get that quality, not just off the streets.

Now that there are 500 more of these on eBay now(300 $20 and 200 $100), do you think these are still worth a high premium, or supply/demand driving the price of additional ones down?

I used to be a major collector of extremely rare Magic: The Gathering cards. The most expensive single card I sold was low 5 figures. Chips aren't that expensive when you consider the alternatives! Here are some Vineyards in play from last weekend, with @Mr. Cheese taking down the tournament!View attachment 25288

Depends almost entirely on the buyer(s) of the first two racks. Prices could drop (if no further interest), or prices could jump dramatically if they need these to finish the job.

Nvmd, didn't look at what thread I was on lol.

Just curious, and ignore if it's prying to much, but with that much tied up in chips, do you get them insured with a rider on your insurance policy? That was a tip I got when bought my wife (then girlfriend) her first piece of jewelry. It's pretty affordable for her jewelry and you pay it once a year.
