My Long Overdue Display Cabinet (3 Viewers)

After having been inspired by PCFers with their fantastic Display Cabinet porn.

I knew that I also need my own Cabinet too, after some nitpicking and scouting for cabinet according to my ideal storage preferences, my long overdue Display Cabinet is finally up and running.

I might look into setting up some lighting in the future as well, it still felt a little dark despite choosing a non-black Cabinet.

The main reason they are placed at the bottom is because they are heavy-weight chips.

Minimizing the stress on the loading bearing is one of my considerations when planning the display layout.

I loved all my sets equally

can't say I love my sets equally, but I've never sold any, so they are all kind of special

I figured u will need at least 20 Cabinets & a house to hold the Cabinets as well if you want to display all your collections

Thanks, I picked the light colour because a Dark / Black colour cabinet will make the whole display setup much darker and in need of more light.

In a sense, it helped to "brighten" up the display

Mission accomplished. The brighter color chips definitely catch your eye.

That is some stash. You must have the insurance company sweating it. I love the barrister doors on the shelf.

Not yet, the barrister doors are kind of in the way of adding the lighting from the top.

I might try LED strip in the future.

It's great. A LED strip hidden by a small wooden frame would be great also.

Thanks, the LED strip is a suggestion from my friend. All Credit goes to him.

900 seems to be the set size of your choice.

The truth is a lot of my chipset's breakdown is either 800 or 1000, but the chipset looks much nicer when I display them in 900.

Plus I also want to keep each row of cabinet load bearing under 20kg.

I also have about 4,000 additional chips (extra/spares, sample or potential project in process) that is kept in my drawer too.

Ran out of cabinet space, I decided to also make good use of the area at the top of the cabinet.

That should free up some extra space for 2 more sets, before I have to get another matching cabinet.

I felt i am going to end up with 4 cabinets like @BearMetal before I retired.

The top shelf might have grown a little and ran out of space after yesterday mail day.

A Happy problem to have.

Thanks, I find it very hard to have everything that I need from in-stock branded cabinet like (IKEA).

Hence, I semi-customed order them from China with the measurements I want so I am able to display the chips & accessory in the way I want like the following

I am also able to add in the longer and durable iron reinserts boards so I can increase the load bearing per shelf as I worry the chips in display can get too heavy.

Lastly, I choose Barristers-style sliding doors cos It easier and look nicer for display

I found PCF looking for Yaks. Found them but then something else caught my eye …. Years later I have dozens of sets but never owned any Yaks, lol.
