I've been meaning to actually post some of my chip sets, but just haven't gotten around to it since I got here. No more procrastination!

These Paulsons were some of the first chips I picked up when I wanted to start putting together, you know, a more respectable playable set. I assembled the set a barrel at a time, and the overall experience was addictive. But that's not a new story around these parts, right? :)

I half-heartedly looked into adding onto this set in the last year, and noticed the prices have spiked since they aren't being produced anymore. It's definitely tempting to send them off to a new home, but then again it's a really great set. Plus, my group still plays with them often enough I can justify it.

These chips were the first non-dice chips my playing group had a chance to play with. It was like night and day, really. I love 'em.

When I first built the set we might have played a little small-stakes cash with them, but once I started branching out into other sets these became tourney-only.

I do have some strays here and there that aren't absolutely necessary for the set to be complete, so if any PCF-ers see something they could benefit from, shoot me a PM.

How can you not love the fun colors on these chips?

That's all I have for this set. I'll get some photos from my other chip sets up soon.

Question: So is everyone around here pretty much offloading these due to the spike in price they're now pulling in online? It's kind of crazy how much they seem to be asking on eBay right now -- and successfully, too. Or is anyone else out there holding onto a nice set of chips like me, at least for now?

That's a very nice set there. I pretty much went the same way as you and collected bit by bit, racks, odds and ends and ended up with 700+ chips now.

Personally I'm holding on to these cause I really like them and my crew loves them.

I love these chips. I sold my larger denoms and kept smaller denoms (1s, 5s and some 25s) for a cash set. I was able to sell for a little higher than $3 per chip on average. It hurt selling but I nearly tripled my purchase price. I feel that sooner or later Paulson will get back in the game and prices will come back down...

That's the part that's tempting to me. But then, it also means I backed into a value-ish set without spending a ton. Which is kind of cool too.

Have 1,040 that I bought when still in print from Apache. Just recently loaded up on Majestics for 2 reasons -1) wanted to have a nice workhorse option that looked great and I wouldn't worry about people handling 2) I just might sell my WTHC chips...still thinking about it

I found you can make significantly more by splitting the set to sell. I found it difficult to sell my set without splitting for my asking price but had no problem selling when I split my set. 25s and 500s sell for the highest.
