So would you rather have 50 NL $500 primary chips...

...or 60 NL $500 secondary chips?

I was considering this the other day, and now it is possible that I have the choice between the two. I can see it both ways. Just curious what you guys think.

They are both great chips. I have a $500 primary and based on all the pics I have seen I think the base colour of the secondary would make me lean towards that.

Secondaries. Not just because they’re minty, I prefer the base color, spot pattern, and spot colors more. It’s just a sexier chip

For context, pretend you have a tourney set with 5s, 25s, and 100s. You need some 500s and these are your two choices.

For resell probably the primary because they went to mostly 2 hoarders/flippers in quantity. Since you plan to use them then I would go with quantity and the 10 extra secondaries.

I was gah gah for the primary when I first saw them but I have to say that I think I now prefer the secondaries. I mean c'mon, gold spot for Pete's sake!

For resell probably the primary
Ultimately I figure both will settle at roughly the same value as I assume there were 400 of each (Jim sold 300 in sets and since Apache had a rack of primary I figure he also got a rack of these for a future sale).

My two cents

I'd go primary.

Or, just get both to see what you like best in person, then give whichever you don't want to me! ;)

I'm in the same boat, was going for a tourney set with 5, 25, 100, 500, but missed out on the 500's. :( Still trying to figure out what to do to complete the set, may try to relabel something.

Sound logic. The deciding factor for my comment is that the primary went into fewer hands. I assume the chances of post sales sales might be lower which might drive up primary prices. I could be totally wrong though.

Secondary. It sits nicer with all the other chips. Both primary and secondary. The primary 500 really does stand out on its own. Depends what you want I guess.

On its own that primary $500 is amazing, but I feel that it’s so bright it overpowers the rest of the set. The secondary fits in perfectly and as others have said, it’s has a gold spot and that’s winning.

To me, right now...after a couple whiskies...

Secondary = "very nice"
Primary = "Wow"

I think I have felt this way all along...
